VISION allows the system to send diagnostic messages automatically via
e-mail to the local Service Centre to report UPS operating failures in real
time. In this way, the Service Centre will be able to react in the fastest and
most appropriate way to resolve the problem, with obvious advantages in terms of
speed and efficiency of the service.

COMMUNICATION

Relay
board
A "dry contacts" board is also available, which makes up to
three "relay" outputs available for remote signals or
commands.
The advanced
communications board
This provides an environmental control function (for example for input from
alarm systems) and a second RS232/485 serial interface.
Temperature control
board
A sensor to monitor the operating
ambient temperature of MODULYS®,
with the transmission of an overtemperature alarm by means of a specific
contact.
Remote
LCD communication panel
Control device allowing control of the UPS and the display of all
its main functions. Note that communication with the user can be in various
languages, including English and Chinese.
It is possible to:

- monitor UPS status by means
of LEDs
- store all events on
file.

Galvanic isolation transformer input/output
This raises the level of electrical
safety (fault on the line) in special environments or modifies the neutral

Distribution panel with
IEC320 sockets
Available only for
Mod-system, this allows the subdivision of the distribution of
electric power on several IEC320 sockets (standard computer sockets). The user
can thus organize the distribution of electric power directly from the UPS to
the
load. |

THE POWER MODULE
Available in three ratings
(1500 VA - 3000 VA - 4500 VA) Mod-Power is the
plug-in power module for the MODULYS® system. It is simple to insert and activate, by
means of a specific plug that groups all connections, both power and control. No
mechanical means such as terminals are needed to put the module into
service.
Maximum reliability
To ensure the highest reliability
and redundancy of the entire system, the power and control circuits of each
Mod-Power do not depend on centralised control units, but have
independent controllers installed on each module. |

MOD-BATTERY / BATTERY PACK
The combination of these two
components is the modular solution for the extension of back-up.
With the
same dimensions and design as the Mod-Power, it contains battery
packs connected to each other in a parallel configuration.
MODULYS® provides modularity and
redundancy even when it comes to
back-up.
Reliable and
independent
Socomec Sicon UPS has paid special attention to the battery packs,
considering them an important part of the whole uninterruptible power system,
and the probable source of critical states during operation. All the battery
packs (4 of 12Ah) can be inserted in compartments that hold up to 4 units. This
gives unprecedented flexibility of growth of the back-up capacity. In order to
ensure reliability, the design engineers have come up with the parallel
connection of all the packs, thus avoiding the danger of an “open circuit” in
the event of a malfunction in one cell, and each Mod-Battery also
has a special independent battery-charger. This enables fast and independent
(compartment by compartment) recharging of the batteries after every
intervention. |
